While the board diversity move is well-intentioned, it just works on one of the symptoms of the problems. Like you rightly mention, it needs systemic change across levels.

Perhaps, we'll have better results by showcasing the many benefits companies get from gender diversity. When everyone understands that it’s not just the ‘right thing to do’, but can lead to company growth as well, it could lead to sustainable change.
